Cookie Policy
Last updated: 24 September 2026
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. Some are needed for the site to work. Others are optional.
2. Your choice
When you first visit, a notice tells you which cookies this site uses. Nothing optional is set until you say yes, and the “Cookie notice” link in the footer brings that notice back whenever you want to read it again.
Declining the optional cookies does not restrict any part of this site.
3. What we actually use
| Cookie / storage | Set by | Purpose | Category | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Consent record (aas_consent_v1) | This site | Remembers that you have seen the cookie notice so we stop showing it | Essential | Until you clear it |
| Language preference | This site | Remembers whether you chose English, Greek or German — a choice you made yourself | Essential | 12 months |
Video playback (youtube-nocookie.com) | Google Ireland Ltd | Plays the apartment tour and remembers your playback settings — set only if you press play | Optional | Up to 2 years |
We ourselves set no optional cookies: the one optional row in the table above is set by YouTube, and only if you press play. If we adopt a cookie-free analytics tool such as Plausible, this table gains no optional row. If we ever add a cookie-based analytics or marketing tool, it will appear here as an optional category and the notice will ask for your consent before it loads.
4. Third parties
The apartment tour on “The Apartment” page is hosted on YouTube. It is embedded as a still image on our own server with a play button over it: nothing is requested from YouTube, and no cookie of theirs is set, unless you press play. Pressing play is therefore your consent. Once you do, the player loads from youtube-nocookie.com, Google’s no-cookie domain, which still sets storage for playback and may transfer data to Google under its own privacy policy. If you would rather not, simply do not press play — the photographs show the same rooms.
We embed no social media trackers, no advertising pixels and no third-party fonts that load from external servers. The Facebook and Instagram links in the footer are plain links: they load nothing until you follow them.
5. Controlling cookies in your browser
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings. Blocking the essential cookies above means the site cannot remember your language or that you have seen this notice.
6. Changes
Any change to this policy is posted here with a new date. If we ever add a new category of cookie, the notice will ask you again.
